My mission when I became a social worker in 1989 is the same as it is today: to promote peace in our broken world. Franklin D. Roosevelt said: "Peace, like charity, begins at home" , and in Sunday School we used to sing a song "Let Peace begin with me". I take that message very seriously. Our world is full of suffering, but we as adults and parents can make a difference by being role models for peaceful relationships. We can have a profound effect on future generations. Our best gift to children is to teach them how to have healthy relationships with others. If we don't, how can they?
